i was thinking i would be having a hysterectomy because of all the pain i have with my periods. that and i’ve been on a period for 30 days running now. will a d and c make the cramps stop? they said i have a fibroid in my uterus. help?
my gynocologist wants me to have a d and c this month. `?

The D&C should stop your bleeding (they will remove all the blood/tissue in your uterus), which should stop the cramping (because all that blood/tissue won’t be passing through your cervix and out of your body), at least temporarily. If your doc is recommending a D&C, then they might think your symptoms are treatable. A hysterectomy is an invasive and painful surgery that you really don’t want to have to go through unless you need it! It sounds like your doc is trying other treatment options first.
